A devastating fire at a nightclub in North Goa claimed the lives of at least 23 people, following a cylinder explosion late Saturday night, according to police reports.

The victims included mainly kitchen staff, with three women among the deceased, as confirmed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. A few tourists also perished in the tragedy.

Preliminary findings revealed that the nightclub violated fire safety regulations. Authorities have vowed stringent actions against both the club management and officials allowing such oversights.
