Fairfield police announced Thursday the successful resolution of a shooting case that occurred outside Fairfield High School in September, resulting in a juvenile suspect receiving 12 months of supervision.

Officers were called to the school’s parking lot on Sept. 16 after reports of an altercation that escalated when a juvenile fired several shots at another individual. A vehicle was hit, but no injuries were reported, police said.

Police arrived within 60 seconds, secured the area with school staff, and determined the suspect had fled.

The case was turned over to the department’s Youth Services Unit, which reviewed hours of surveillance footage, conducted numerous interviews, searched residences, and completed photo lineups.
