An e-gaming fundraiser Saturday in Bridgeville that brought in hundreds of dollars for the nonprofit run by former Steeler Ryan Shazier was the months-long work of students in Robert Morris University’s sports management program.

The event, called Madden Madness, was conceptualized and executed by Armand Buzzelli’s sports management class. Students took the event from idea to pitch to final product over the course of the semester. Saturday’s event itself was the class’s final project.

Groups of students had different roles: Fundraising, marketing, operations and streaming — the entire event was shown live on the streaming platform Twitch.
