Posts circulating on social media claim that an “immigration enforcement vehicle” struck and killed a pedestrian at a Metairie intersection last night. But the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office says the claims are entirely fabricated.
The posts, shared widely across social media Friday night, alleged that witnesses saw an immigration vehicle recklessly engaged in a high-speed chase before hitting an unidentified man at the intersection of Veterans and Massachusetts avenues. The post blamed the supposed incident on the actions of President Donald Trump, Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry and federal agencies.
