Alabama football legend Joe Namath was among those troubled by what he saw in the first half of the SEC championship game on Saturday.
The Crimson Tide trailed 14-0 vs. Georgia at Mercedes Benz in Atlanta. Namath, Alabama’s starting quarterback from 1962-64 and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, made his thoughts known via social media.
“Georgia sure looks like the better team at this point in the game,” Namath wrote. “Their defense is playing lights out. We have to play a hell of a lot better the second half. ROLL TIDE!!!”
For what it’s worth, Namath went 3-0 in his career vs. Georgia. The Crimson Tide outscored the Bulldogs 96-10 in that span.
