CORALVILLE — The Iowa high school wrestling season is well underway, and the Dan Gable Donnybrook— one of the biggest events on the schedule — was held Dec. 4-6.
Some of the best wrestlers from across Iowa, plus some elite out-of-state competition, came together in Xtream Arena to compete. Boys and girls tournaments were held, producing some matches we may see again come February at the Iowa high school state wrestling tournaments.
This was one of our first major opportunities to learn about the high school wrestling scene in Iowa in the 2025-26 season. With that in mind, here are four takeaways from the Dan Gable Donnybrook.
Decorah's Anastasia Simon has standout weekend
