CALDWELL, Kan. (KWCH) - The Caldwell Police Department discovered multiple unknown devices inside city limits on Saturday.

At 8:33 a.m., officers were alerted to an unknown device in the 100 block of south Main Avenue. Officers immediately closed the surrounding roads to limit the risk to citizens and allow emergency responders to assess the situation.

A multi-agency response followed as they investigated the device and its potential to be explosive. The agencies that assisted were the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, the Wichita Police Department Bomb Squad, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Caldwell EMS, and the Caldwell Fire Department.

The WPD Bomb Squad was able to investigate the device and neutralize it.
