In two separate incidents on Saturday, Chinese J-15 fighter jets targeted Japanese F-15 aircraft using radar over international waters near Japan's Okinawan islands, according to Japan's Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi.

Koizumi labeled the radar illumination as exceeding necessary safety protocols and described the move as dangerous.

Japan responded by lodging a formal protest with China, deeming the actions as regrettable, as reported on Koizumi's social media post.
