WACO, Texas — Reports say former Magnolia president Doug McNamee is expected to be named Baylor's next athletic director.

McNamee currently serves as president of the lifestyle brand Field & Stream, but has ties to Baylor University.

From 2012 to 2018, he served in the Baylor athletics office as an associate athletic director for the Bear Foundation and later as senior associate athletic director for external affairs. McNamee left to head Chip and Joanna Gaines' Magnolia company, where he served as president for four years.

The hometown Bear graduated from Baylor University in 2003.
