GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — Tusculum University will hold a memorial service on Monday, Dec. 8, at 5 p.m. to honor freshman Payton Cook, who tragically passed away Friday evening in a single-vehicle crash on Old Tusculum Road.

Four other students were also injured in the crash and are recovering, and none of their injuries are considered life-threatening.
University leaders and staff members responded at the accident scene and later at the hospital to support survivors and their families.
The service, which will take place in Pioneer Arena, will be led by the Rev. E.J. Swatsell, the university’s director of spiritual life and special projects. University officials said the community is invited to attend.
