(WNDU) - Over the past 30 years, with the support of people across Michiana, our community has helped the marines collect nearly 549-thousand toys for deserving children in Michiana.
This year was no different for WNDU-TV’s 31st Toys for Tots event.
Folks across Michiana were up and at ‘em bright and early Saturday morning for WNDU’s 31st year partnering with the Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots program.
From Elkhart, to Stevensville, to Warsaw, even right here in front of the station, the community showed up for area kids despite the chilly weather.
“There’s nothing like helping make a kid’s Christmas,” said Jan Noack Walters with Red Bud Ministries. “That’s a pretty good payback for toys and gifts because you know you’re making kids’ faces light up on Christmas morning.”
