LONDON, Ky. — Members of Corryton Church traveled from Tennessee to Wyan-Pine Grove Elementary School this week, bringing Christmas to families still reeling from a deadly tornado that devastated parts of the London community in May.
For years, Corryton Church has organized a holiday shopping event for people in need. Senior Pastor Rocky Ramsey said the tradition started small but quickly grew into a major outreach effort.
“We did the first one, and it was just such a blessing for us to bless those people; we just wanted to keep doing it,” Ramsey said. “So, we’ve probably given out over a million and a half dollars’ worth of stuff over all these years.”
This year’s event took on new urgency after a tornado destroyed homes in the area, leaving some families with nothing. Church member
