Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has described the capital’s severe pollution and recurring smog as a long-standing challenge that cannot be solved instantly. Calling air pollution “a legacy problem", the Chief Minister stressed that there is no “jaadu ki chhadi" to make the crisis disappear.

Speaking at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, 2025, she said the issue had “grown over decades" and warned against expecting any sudden turnaround. The Delhi Chief Minister explained that the government is working continuously, but problems of this scale cannot be given a fixed deadline. “It is an ongoing process," she said.
