VENICE, Fla. ( WWSB ) - A crash has shutdown Northbound Tamiami Trail, according to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office with the Sarasota County Fire Department and FHP responded to a vehicle crash on South Tamiami Trail in Venice near Sunset Beach Boulevard.

One dead, one injured in fiery crash on State Road 70 during heavy fog

Northbound Tamiami Trail will be closed while the incident is investigated and the roadway is being cleared.

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternative routes.

No injuries have been reported at this time.
