BUFFALO, N.Y. — It's starting to look a lot like Christmas in downtown Buffalo, where the city held its annual tree lighting ceremony Saturday at Fountain Plaza.

The celebration began at 5 p.m. that day with free ice skating in Rotary Rink. People could bring their own skates, or rent them on-site; it costs $2 for children and $3 for adults.

The tree was lit shortly past 6 p.m. and it was followed by a fireworks show.

Afterward, families enjoyed visits with Santa, holiday activities, and train rides for kids.
