SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

El Camino Fundamental High School students hit the airwaves Friday for a marathon broadcasting session.

The school's KYDS 91.5 FM radio station kicked off its annual holiday-time Audiothon—a 24-hour fundraising effort and gift card drive that will support the Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento this year.

"It's just such a gift when the community steps up to help the kids that are in need of our care, our support, our love," said Danielle McGarrity of the Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento. "That means a lot to them. They know that people out there, they've never met, are gonna help them out. Get them through the holidays, which could be pretty tricky."
