Arizona Western (9-2) won their sixth straight game on Friday night with a 101-98 win over New Mexico Military Institute at Cahoon Military Gym in Roswell, New Mexico. Arizona Western led 51-45 at the half and hung on down the stretch with the Broncos outscoring Arizona Western 53-50 in the second half. The Matadors hit some key shots in the final minute along with stout defensive stands to preserve a nail-biting win down the stretch. Arizona Western was led by Matt Anglo who led all scorers with 28 points, shooting 8-14 from the field and 10-10 from the free throw line. Anglo was one of three Matadors who finished the night in double figures. Engel Gutierrez ended with 18 points and Illiam Fevry pitched in with 16 off the bench.
