AUBURN — Jackson Arnold 's time with Auburn football will be a pitstop in his college career, as the former Oklahoma quarterback will return to the transfer portal this offseason, a source confirmed to the Montgomery Advertiser on Saturday, Dec. 6.

Arnold met with first-year head coach Alex Golesh 's staff this week and was encouraged to explore other opportunities, according to the source. On3 was first to report the news.

Arnold transferred to Auburn from the Sooners, and the former consensus five-star prospect was poised to be Hugh Freeze 's next starting quarterback from the onset. The marriage didn't work out for either party, however.
