Scottsdale police arrested a man following a domestic-violence incident that prompted a barricade, multiple road closures, and the evacuation of nearby homes, officials said.
About 11:15 a.m. Dec. 6, several tactical units responded to a residence near McDowell Road and 48th Street for an active barricade situation involving a lone man suspected of domestic violence, according to Scottsdale Police Department spokesperson Officer Aaron Bolin.
Although the incident was limited to the immediate property, roads leading into the neighborhood were blocked, and nearby residents were safely evacuated, Bolin said.
Bolin added that officers spent more than an hour attempting to negotiate with the man and make announcements, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
