A 51-year-old male who was the Burlington High School wrestling coach at the time sent sexually explicit photographs of his public area to who he believed to be a 14-year-old girl.

A federal jury in Boston convicted Stephen James Lemelin of three counts of attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison per count. U.S. District Court Judge Patti B. Saris scheduled sentencing for March 26, 2026.

Prosecutors say that Lemelin over the course of five months used the encrypted messaging platform Kik to communicate with an undercover officer pretending to be a 14-year-old girl.
