Officials said that the fire spread from the club's kitchen area to other parts.

Around 23 people have died in a cylinder blast which happened at a nightclub in the Arpora area of Goa on Saturday late at night. The authorities have not yet released any information regarding the number of injured; however, the police had earlier confirmed that the fire broke out around 12 AM.

Just after receiving the information about the fire, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and local MLA Michael Lobo promptly reached the spot.

The CM had earlier informed that among the deceased are three women and 3-4 tourists. He also claimed that three people amongst the dead civilians had died after suffering severe burns and, the rest had died due to suffocation.
