A toddler was killed when a pickup truck struck in a driveway on Saturday, Dec. 6, police said.

The child was hit by a Ram 1500 in the driveway of a home on Maureen Drive in Mount Sinai at 12:42 p.m, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. The toddler’s 44-year-old mother and 43-year-old father were on scene when the crash happened.

The toddler was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where the child was pronounced dead, police said.

Sixth Squad detectives are investigating the crash and are asking anyone with information to call 631-854-8652. Tipsters can also report information anonymously through Crime Stoppers, which offers rewards for tips that lead to an arrest, according to the release.
