The No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs will be rewarded by the College Football Playoff selection committee for playing an extra game and defeating the No. 9 Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday to win its second conference title in as many years.

With a 28-7 win over Alabama at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the Bulldogs are set to earn a first-round bye in the CFP when the selection committee releases the final bracket on Sunday.
With a dominant performance over the Crimson Tide, Georgia showed the nation it looks like a contender to win the national title in January. Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart has his team motivated to avenge their 23-10 loss to Notre Dame in the CFP quarterfinal last year.
