BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Two people were killed in a single-vehicle crash Friday, December 5, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash occurred at 7:21 p.m. on Stewartsville Road, three tenths of a mile north of Afton Meadow Road, according to police.

Police say a driver of a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling east on Stewartsville Road, when she ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.

The driver of the Dodge was identified as Angela Marie Heffinger, 53, of Moneta. She was wearing her seatbelt and died at the scene. The passenger, Randy Lee Simmons, 54, was also wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene.
