RIVERDALE — The city of Riverdale recently announced that Randall L. Norman was selected as police chief.

Norman has more than 17 years of law enforcement and public safety experience, most recently serving as the Morehouse College Police Department’s deputy chief.

Before joining Morehouse College, he served with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office, rising to the rank of captain.

“We had the privilege of considering some of the most talented and distinguished law enforcement professionals in the country during this extensive search,” Riverdale Mayor Evelyn Wynn-Dixon said. “I am confident in the city manager’s thorough evaluation and stand in full support of her selection.
