CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) - On Friday, Dec. 5, human remains were found by the Carson River near the Trainwreck Rapids in Brunswick Canyon, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office news release.

Carson City Park Rangers responded and secured the area.

On Saturday, Dec. 6, Carson City Search and Rescue and detectives preserved the scene and recovered pieces of human remains, clothing, and other artifacts, the release said.

Investigators believe the remains possibly belonged to Robert Lawson White, a kayaker who went missing in June 2023, the release said.

White and James Martin, another kayaker, went missing on the same day.

In the summer of 2023, Martin’s body was recovered from the river.
