JAMESTOWN — Keagen Maragos took down the competition on Saturday.
Literally.
Maragos, a freshman for the Jamestown High School wrestling team, won the 145 pound bracket at the Blue Jays' annual Knights of Columbus tournament. In the four matches wrestled, the freshman delivered a 15-5 major decision and three pins.
Maragos was one of two first-place finishers for the Jays.
Ryker Stoddart, a sophomore, delivered a 4-0 in the 152 pound bracket to win the KC championship. In the opening round, Stoddart received a bye then squeaked out a win in the quarterfinals. Stoddart defeated West Fargo Horace's Briar Suko in a 17-16 decision.
Stoddart punched his ticket to the semifinals with a pin of Landon Zinke of Devils Lake. In the championship, he defeated Ben Quittschreiber over Central Cass
