MUSKEGON, MI — The community is searching for answers following a shooting Saturday that killed two people and injured three others at a Muskegon residence.

“For this to happen, it’s very tragic and sad,” said Latrice Williams, who was standing outside the crime scene Saturday afternoon in the Jackson Hill neighborhood on the east side of the city.

Officers from the Muskegon Police Department responded to the home in the 600 block of Jackson Avenue at the intersection of McLaren Street after receiving a report of shots fired.

Police arrived to find multiple people injured.

A 25-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said, while two additional 25-year-old men were transported to Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital and remained in critical condition.
