Bo McCalebb scored over 2,500 points for UNO, and his No. 1 jersey was retired at halftime of the UNO men’s basketball home opener against Houston Christian at Lakefront Arena.

McCalebb was honored during a halftime ceremony and became the third UNO basketball player to have their number retired alongside Ervin Johnson and Sandra Hodge. Johnson was in attendance alongside McCalebb for Saturday’s game, an 85-76 loss for UNO.

“It was a special moment,” McCalebb said. “Blessed to be able to be in the position to accomplish something like that. I would just like to thank my teammates, coaches and everybody that had a hand in steering me in the right way. It’s big. I just wish my mom was here to see it.”
