Japan has issued a formal protest to China after a Chinese military jet engaged in a potentially dangerous radar lock on Japanese fighter jets near Okinawa. This incident, which did not involve any airspace violations or injuries, has reignited tensions between the two nations.

According to Japan's Defense Ministry, the confrontation occurred twice on Saturday when China's J-15 aircraft intermittently locked its radar on Japan's F-15 fighters, raising concerns about aerial safety and military escalation.

Japanese Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi labeled the radar lock as a 'dangerous act' and demanded China implement strict preventive measures. This confrontation follows recent strained relations sparked by Japan's remarks on Taiwan, a point of contention for China.
