The hits just keep on coming.
Vancouver Canucks centre Elias Pettersson left the warm-up skate Saturday night at Rogers Arena with what is reportedly being called an upper-body injury. He was not injured in the skate.
It was just another blow for the Canucks, who have had as many as nine players injured at one-time this season, during a condensed NHL schedule that has taken a physical and mental toll. The Canucks entered their meeting with the Minnesota Wild on a four-game losing streak and sit in last place overall.
Pettersson was tied for the team lead in scoring after 28 games with 22 points (8-14) in 20:37 of average ice timed. He has 12 point (5-7) in the last 13 games, but has not scored in his last three games, and has one goal in his last six.
