WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - At the District One Advisory Board meeting last Monday, the City of Wichita said it would amend its designs to include parallel parking and bike lanes, prompting celebrations from the crowd in attendance. We spoke with the advocacy group Bike Walk Wichita to learn more about why this agreement matters.

“Bike Walk Wichita is an advocacy organization that is trying to make things safer for people walking and biking in Wichita,” said Alan Kailer, Advocacy Chair for Bike Walk Wichita.

Kailer says that diagonal parking is dangerous for cyclists, as it can be difficult for cars to see what is coming down the road from the diagonal angle.
