ATLANTA — Ty Simpson stopped his answer.
The question was a simple one. With a College Football Playoff berth on the line, how frustrating was Alabama football's offensive showing in a 28-7 loss to Georgia in the SEC Championship Game?
Simpson, the lone representative of an offense with 209 yards and 7 points to its name, one that has not scored more than 30 points against an FBS team since Oct. 18, began to speak of an unwavering standard.
"We think that," Simpson said before he paused, correcting himself, using a brief moment to completely flip the narrative of how Alabama's offense is viewed internally.
"Actually, we know we're the best offense in the country," Simpson said. Need a news break? Check out the all new PLAY hub with puzzles, games and more!
