Sir Alastair Cook enjoyed a legendary England batting career and will hope the current side can emulate his Ashes success in Australia. Cook scored 33 centuries during 161 Test matches and was pivotal to England claiming the Ashes in 2011.
The 40-year-old, who captained the side from 2012 until 2016, scored a remarkable 766 runs during the victorious away series more than a decade ago. This included his career-defining 235 not out to save the first Test, with the dramatic draw setting England on their way to a 3-1 series win.
Cook retired from Test cricket in 2018 and ended his domestic career in 2023. As England aim to win the Ashes in Australia once again, the former opening batsman is in a prime position
