BRIGHTON, Mich. (WILX) -Mount Brighton opened Saturday for the ski season, offering skiers and snowboarders access to eight trails with varying difficulty levels.
The resort was able to open by combining natural snowfall with artificial snowmaking operations, according to resort officials.
Megan Greenlee, general manager of Mount Brighton’s ski resort, said preparation for the winter season is a year-round effort.
“We have a team here all summer long making sure we have nice smooth even trails that are ready to handle snow, and then once the temperature and humidity gets to a point where we can make snow, you need water, compressed air, and a lot of motors and high efficiency snow making equipment so you’re able to actually blow that snow and create a great base,” Greenlee said. “We thi
