INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a woman died after she was struck by an SUV on the southeast side of Indianapolis Saturday evening.

According to IMPD, around 9:48 p.m. on Dec. 6, officers were called to a personal injury accident in the 7600 block of Acton Road , near East Southport Road, on Indy's southeast side.

When officers arrived, they say an adult woman had been struck by an SUV. Medics arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital in critical condition where she later died. IMPD says the driver of the SUV stayed on scene and was cooperative with officers.

The driver of the SUV was also taken to a local hospital for a blood draw, as per standard procedure in fatal accidents.

No further information was shared by police.
