OGLETHORPE, Ga. — A man is dead after an encounter involving dogs in the City of Oglethorpe on Saturday.

Macon County Coroner Eddie Hosley identified the victim as 41-year-old Raphael Woolfork. Hosley said Woolfork was injured during an encounter with dogs and suffered multiple dog bites.

According to a news release from the Oglethorpe Police Department, officers received a report from the Macon County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday, December 6, regarding a possible dog-bite victim being transported to the hospital. Their investigation determined that Woolfork was attacked by three pit bull dogs while walking on Chatham Street in Oglethorpe.
