MILTON, N.H. — New Hampshire fire officials said one person is dead after a house fire in Milton, New Hampshire, Saturday morning.
The state fire marshal's office said the Milton Fire Department responded to a two-story home on Willey Road at 8:45 a.m. for a reported fire.
According to a news release, the person who called 911 had been inside the home when the fire started. The person reportedly told dispatchers there was another person trapped inside the house.
When fire crews arrived, they had trouble accessing the house because snow was covering the driveway, the release said. Once firefighters were prepared to enter, the second floor collapsed.
After crews extinguished the fire, personnel found a body inside the home, the release said.
