KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Texans standout cornerback Kamari Lassiter is expected to play Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs despite a foot injury that sidelined him for the majority of this week, per league sources.
Should Lassiter experience a setback with his foot, Tremon Smith would be his primary replacement, per sources.
Lassiter returned to practice Friday on a limited basis and is listed as questionable.
Although Lassiter missed two practices and isn’t 100 percent, he is determined to play and has made progress, per league sources. Lassiter traveled with the team and is set to play against the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.
Sources emphasized Thursday that it wouldn’t be a long-term injury. The fact that Lassiter is making progress underscored that fact.
