WASHINGTON (AP) — The National Park Service will no longer offer free admission to Americans on Martin Luther King Jr. Day or Juneteenth, but will waive admission costs on President Donald Trump’s birthday. The change was announced late last month, one of several new National Park Service admission policies that include higher entry fees for international visitors. Trump’s birthday, June 14, is also Flag Day. It’s the latest example of the Trump administration downplaying America’s history of slavery and the fight for civil rights as well as the president using his position for self-promotion.
