PHOENIX — Candlelight vigils were held Saturday night for two men shot and killed about a week apart in the same area of north Phoenix.

Family members for 45-year-old Marcus Adams gathered in the parking lot near Greenway Road and 19th Avenue, where Phoenix police said he was killed. Loved ones remembered him as generous and creative.

“If he had something to give to somebody that he can give to, then he'll give it to you like, in the blink of an eye, like he was amazing. He was just the most amazing person,” niece Jasmine Walls said.

“He loved people, he loved to play violin," said Stephanie Walls, Adams' sister.

Adams was killed on Nov. 24. According to court records, he was shot at least nine times.
