Ana de Armas is looking back on how being nominated for an Oscar has affected her career.

The 37-year-old actress became the first Cuban nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars in 2023 for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in the movie Blonde .

While attending the Red Sea International Film Festival this past week, Ana reflected on her nomination and shared how it hasn’t affected the roles she’s offered.

“I get it,” she said, via Variety . “A Cuban playing Marilyn Monroe is very strange. A week of preparation on my own, and my accent was a disaster.
