The Central Institute of Classical Tamil is embarking on an ambitious project to translate the revered text, Thirukkural, into 30 more languages by August 2026, aiming for a total of 100 languages. This expansion includes translations into 23 additional Indian languages and other significant foreign languages.

Currently available in 34 languages, including 25 Indian dialects, Thirukkural's translation endeavors emphasize its universal significance. 'This initiative will showcase the timeless values of Thirukkural to a global audience,' said R Chandrasekaran, Director of the Central Institute.
