Australian authorities have reduced the threat level of wildfires that have ravaged thousands of hectares in New South Wales, Australia's most populous state. The infernos have left a trail of destruction, decimating homes and damaging vital infrastructure.

As of late Sunday, more than 60 wildfires continued to burn, though the state's Rural Fire Service assured residents that these no longer pose an immediate danger. This development marks a shift from the previous status when at least 12 homes were lost in the Central Coast Region, north of Sydney.
