Pat Spencer made his first career start for the Golden State Warriors on Saturday and rose to the moment in a major way against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He guided his team to a gritty 99–94 victory at Rocket Arena.
In the post-game press conference, head coach Steve Kerr spoke at length about Spencer’s development and impact.
“The past couple of years, but he’s really improved his jump shot. I mean, that’s the big thing. Last year, he would turn down a lot of threes, drive in, shoot a lot of floaters. And he’s never going to be Steph, but he’s a threat out there. And that’s what it takes. You have to be a threat from the line to be able to pull the defense out. And I just think the shot quality now that we’re getting with him on the floor is way better than it was the last couple of year
