Panaji: A day after the devastating fire at the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Arpora, the official death toll remains at 25, and the Goa government has launched statewide inspections of nightlife venues to prevent another tragedy.
The fire, believed to have started from a gas cylinder explosion, spread quickly inside the building late Saturday night. Many victims were unable to escape due to smoke and blocked exits. Among the dead were tourists and staff. Several others are still receiving treatment and some remain in critical condition.
