NEW DELHI: At least 25 people were killed and six others injured after a massive fire broke out shortly after midnight on Sunday at the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Arpora, North Goa. Police initially confirmed 23 deaths but later revised the toll to 25. A police spokesperson said the deceased included four tourists and 14 staff members, while the identities of seven others are yet to be established. Six injured persons are undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim. According to eyewitnesses, the nightclub was jam-packed with around 100 people on the dance floor when the fire broke out shortly after midnight on Sunday.
