HONOLULU — The Cal State Fullerton men’s basketball team trailed by 14 points at halftime, and the Titans’ efforts to mount a second-half comeback came up short in a 69-59 loss to Hawaii on Saturday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Landon Seaman finished with 17 points and five rebounds and Bryce Cofield had 16 points and six rebounds for Fullerton (3-6 overall, 0-2 Big West), which entered the game as the league’s top-scoring offense (88.4 points per game) but shot 34% from the field and was stifled by Hawaii all night.

Jefferson De La Cruz Monegro added 10 points and five rebounds and Joshua Ward contributed seven points, seven rebounds and three steals for the Titans, who shot just 26% in the first half compared to 42% for Hawaii, which led 39-25 at the break on the strength of 8-of-
