It's the winter holiday season here in Sarasota-Manatee, including in the local arts scene. Marie Selby Botanical Gardens' acclaimed holiday light show Lights in Bloom returns to its downtown Sarasota campus, while Christmastime classics such as "The Nutcracker," "A Christmas Carol" and "Black Nativity" have ongoing productions on area stages.

Beyond the holidays, the touring production of the wildly popular, Tony Award-winning musical "The Book of Mormon" returns to Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, while Florida Studio Theatre hosts a Southeastern premiere and Sarasota Players concludes its run of another massively popular, Tony-winning musical, "Rent."
