PROVIDENCE – Friday night brought a rare result in the men’s basketball series between Brown and Bryant.
The road team has dominated in recent seasons, and the majority of those meetings have been tense to the final whistle. That wasn’t the case at Pizzitola Center, with the Bears remaining in command virtually from start to finish on their home floor.
Brown found some unexpected touch from 3-point range and won the battle on the glass decisively. That added up to a 75-56 cruise past the Bulldogs on Dec. 5, a victory that kicked off a men’s rivalry weekend in the state.
The Bears connected on a season-high 12 3-pointers and controlled the margins off turnovers (22-6), on second chances (13-3) and off the bench (32-11). Bryant had no way back after falling into a 60-40 hole with 12:33
